I read 160 books in 2011. I don't intend to try to match this accomplishment in 2012. What I am going to do is to blog my year's reading. Today is the 13th of January, a singularly inauspicious date to begin a blog. However, maybe the inauspiciousness is actually a good thing.
I have already read several books. Over the weekend, I will return to the blog and fill in the already missing gaps.
I have set a couple of interesting reading goals for myself for this year. First, I have agreed, along with a number of my amazon forum buddies, that I will review every kindle book that I read on amazon.com. I will also read at least one self-published book a week, and will review it on amazon. I will post my reviews on this blog as well, although it is unlikely that anyone but me will ever read it.
I am also going to start reviewing for a book review blog. I've gotten signed up with them, & have checked out a couple of books from the review site. I am, apparently, also free to review books from my own book collection. At this point, at least, I am going to keep the name of the review site to myself. I will not be posting those reviews on this blog, as I have agreed that the reviews are the property of the reviewing site. I am not even sure that I will mention the titles of the books here, as they do not belong to me, & I'm not sure that my agreement with the review blog will allow it.
I need to set my reading good on Goodreads again, and get my shelves up to date. I will set 100 books as my goal, and I am sure that I will get there with no problem at all.

160 is a very impressive number. Even when I'm going full speed I can get like a 3rd of that in a year.
